Authentication tomorrow.
As today's standards, technologies and business practices for
identity management take shape, ChoicePoint Authentication Solutions
(CPAS) is at the forefront of combating fraud across enterprises,
markets and industries. ChoicePoint monitors issues, trends
and new opportunities for risk assessment information delivery,
while responding effectively with products and services that
reflect changing industry concerns and dynamics. Through understanding
our customers' needs, CPAS is building and maintaining an evolving,
business-driven platform for digital identity management -- a
total solution offering that can meet today's business needs,
while offering flexibility for the future.
The diagram below illustrates how our platform's comprehensive
authentication process solves business problems and enhances
identity management. In short, authentication is never actually
finished; it is a perpetual process. Here's how it works.

- ChoicePoint's authentication continuum begins by continuously
analyzing vast amounts of information from public, proprietary
and permissible use or marketing data resources.
- Then, we turn raw data into intelligent information -- valuable resources that can be leveraged by the informational needs of businesses of all sizes, as well as federal, state and local government agencies.
- ChoicePoint Authentication Solutions is our platform --
the way we manage, identify, retrieve, store, analyze and
deliver these data resources: Common User Interface (UI),
Workflow, Extensibility, Security & Scalability, and Globalization.
- To work securely both within ChoicePoint and externally,
individuals, enterprise partners and third-party identity
services log in to the Authentication Network to access
appropriate data. ChoicePoint authenticates users, then
manages and monitors access, usage and applications.
- Implemented through a group of best of breed business applications or suite of products, Strategic Authentication is ChoicePoint's business-driven set of layers designed to validate a digital identity which enables granting access to appropriate information.
- Verification- (Does this user exist?) verifies the existence of the person and identity profile using:
- Authentication- (Is this the correct user?)
authenticates the owner of the presented identity profile
using:
- Out-of-wallet knowledge-based quiz
- Monitoring- (Has this user profile changed?)
continuously manages user's identity profile or account
for high risk changes to predict fraud and evaluate
risk.
- Identity Resolution- (Is this the same user?)
integrates data from internal and external sources,
verifying customers' personal information in real time
as new data enters the system. Identity Resolution creates
a normalized view of an organization's customers and
ensures that the data is stored in a format suitable
for rapid and accurate searching.
- Authentication Management and Solutions governs the final levels of the authentication continuum: Visibility and Dashboard. Visibility delivers complete access management— to analyze identities, maintain business and privacy policies, and authorize access to systems, applications and resources. In short, it enables identity management systems that ensures appropriate information access.
- The Services layer is where the end-user receives
delivery of all the benefits of the authentication process.
It is the level where the end-user sees, interacts with,
navigates and performs self-service to their identity profile
to gain access to accounts, networks and other functions
of enterprises. Most of the authentication continuum is
transparent to the end-user.
