The availability of VolunteerSelect PLUS has fundamentally changed the volunteer review process. More and more nonprofit organizations are conducting background screening which, prior to the availability of VolunteerSelect, was cost prohibitive. VolunteerSelect has changed the way nonprofits select their volunteers, because they now have the information they need to make better decisions on which volunteers are allowed to serve and represent their organizations.

In the vast majority of cases, volunteers have their clients' best interests at heart and perform their duties with professionalism and dedication. But in some tragic instances, volunteers have abused their responsibility and violated the trust placed in them. Recent events have only highlighted a growing concern about caregivers and the roles they play - bringing to light the need to know more about the personal histories of those who seek to serve children, as well as elderly and disabled people.
